Meet Mrs. Wagner

Hi, I am Lindsey Wagner and I am proud to guide your child through the adventures of Kindergarten!

This year marks my eighteenth year teaching children in Kindergarten. My teaching career began with the St. Louis Public School District.  I am excited to have taught at Claymont for fourteen years!  I received my undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education from Saint Louis University and a Masters degree in Early Childhood Education from Webster University. Each year, I continue to pursue various learning opportunities that enhance and further my knowledge of young children.

On a personal note, my husband Kevin and I have a six-year old daughter named Avery, who will begin first grade this year.  After living in the city for 40 years, we just moved into the Parkway area this summer!  We have two cats, Jezebel and Pancho.  I love to travel, bake, spend time outdoors, and relax with a good book.

My Philosophy of Education:

  • To teach young children in a developmentally appropriate manner
  • To provide an exciting, stimulating, and rewarding learning environment for your child
  • To be a strong, positive bright spot in your child’s day
  • To encourage your child’s young mind to think creatively and critically
  • To build a strong foundation for lifelong learning
  • I believe in giving your child the opportunity to challenge, question and take risks in the classroom
  • To ensure that all students are capable, curious and confident learners

 My Behavior Management Philosophy:

  • Allowing children to participate in setting the classroom expectations and helping them realize the importance of following through with each one
  • Valuing the mistakes of children as learning opportunities
  • Redirecting children to more acceptable behaviors
  • Listening when children talk about their feelings and frustrations
  • Guiding children to develop skills for resolving conflicts and finding solutions to problems
  • We will have regular classroom meetings to discuss issues as they arise
